BOCA RATON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To celebrate Sexual Health Awareness Month this September, South Florida based Urologist, men’s health specialist and Man Up podcast co-host Dr. Justin Dubin, is offering tips and advice that aim to help individuals take positive steps toward achieving their own sexual health.
“While sexual health is important year round, this month gives us an extra opportunity to shine a light on the ways in which we can take care of our bodies physically, mentally and emotionally,” said Dubin. “This is such a critical topic that too often falls by the wayside. Protection is Paramount: At its core, sexual heath is about protecting your body physically and avoiding things like sexually-transmitted diseases or unplanned pregnancies. Mental Health Matters: A less commonly discussed part of sexual health is mental health. The brain is a powerful thing, and if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues, your sexual health could be compromised. It’s important to take care of your mental health, as well as your physical health, if you want to maintain good sexual health.
Sexual Health is Total Body Health: For men especially, this means that issues with erections could be an early sign of heart disease or be caused by diabetes. If you are a man who is struggling with sexual health issues, it’s important to go to your doctor to not only treat the problem, but also get assessed for potential other health issues. Seeing your doctor can prevent bigger problems down the road.
