Every Indian knows about the Dandi March. Also known as Salt Satyagraha, the movement was started by Mahatma Gandhi and had a huge impact on the British.

The place is noted for the famous Chauri Chaura incident, wherein the police killed several peaceful protestors. Later, an angry mob set the entire police station on fire which killed 22 policemen.

The world remembers the massacre of the Jallianwala Bagh that took place on April 13, 1919. Nearly 379 innocent people were gunned to death by Britishers. The incident is counted among the cruellest acts of human slaughter in the history of freedom struggle.

A very significant incident in the history of Indian freedom struggle is the Kakori Conspiracy. On August 9, 1925, Indian revolutionaries looted around INR 8000 from a train carrying money from the British government treasury.

For those who don’t know, Champaran is the first place where Mahatma Gandhi started the Satyagraha movement. This is the place where Mahatma Gandhi successfully and non-violently fought with the Britishers.
