How to make Gajar Halwa in a pressure cooker – Recipes

Winters are here and so is the time to enjoy decadent Gajar Ka Halwa. Here is how to make it at home.

750 grams carrot, 50 grams ghee, ½ cup sugar, 2 green cardamoms, 2 tbsp condensed milk, 1 cup milk, ½ cup water, 2 tbsp almonds, 2 tbsp cashews and 2 tbsp raisins.

Peel the carrots and grate them. Collect the grated carrots in a bowl.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add crushed green cardamom along with grated carrots. Saute for 4-5 minutes.

Now add ½ cup water to the cooker, cover with a lid and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles on medium flame.

Open the lid of the cooker and keep it on medium flame. Add milk and sugar. Mix and let it cook for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, roughly chop the almonds and cashews. Add them to the cooker along with raisins. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.

Lastly add condensed milk and cook for last 5 minutes. Once the mixture dried up and attains a halwa-like consistency, it is ready.
